ninety.

One great thing about my recent trip to Shanghai was being able so celebrate my grandpa's ninetieth birthday. Living in Australia away from the majority of my extended family, means I usually miss out on celebrations like this.

Ninety is a massive milestone, and to my grandpa to another major milestone of one hundred.

skyscrapers.

I have finally gotten over the mountain of work that awaited me when I got back from Shanghai, giving me a chance to finally catch up on my blogging.

Not a word heavy post today, just some quick images to showcase a bit of Shanghai and get me into the blogging spirit.

These are the skyscrapers in Shanghai's PuDong district. Taken on a cloudy and foggy night under the bright lights. I think Rick and I were so fascinated by these buildings we spent a good hour just taking photos.

We spent the night drinking wine and eating tapas in the Hyatt's Cloud Nine bar, on the 87th Floor, watching Shanghai disappear into the night fog.

home.

In what feels like a whirlwind of days gone, I'm finally home from a short trip back to Shanghai.
It has actually been about six years since my last visit and I was surprised with all the change that has happened in this city in that space of my absence.

A city with a fusion of new and old, mixed in with an cultural decadence that I have only remembered ever seeing in movies. I missed home (Sydney), but through this brief re-aquaintence with this city, I've also gained a new love and appreciation for my old home; Shanghai.
