oh so french-y.

I woke up Easter Sunday to the smell of crispy bacon wafting through from the kitchen. Rick had gotten up early to cook us a scrumptious breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled mushrooms and grilled tomato. He also handed over to me a massive Kinder Surprise Easter Egg.

I unintentionally dressed myself in the colours of the French flag. A great colour scheme overall, finally moving me away from my normal black, grey, white colour palette. We went for a short walk by Newington Armory in the afternoon. I found out that there was an Art Express exhibition being held there but we missed the closing time by half and hour.

I never seemed be disappointed with Newington Armory, its such a small area, but the scenery changes so quickly. Its located near a river, yet as you go further inland, there are pine trees, yet the old army barracks with its old railway tracks adds a bit of vintage charm to the area.

It's been a while since I've worn lipstick, and I felt every bit lady like. The weather is still kinda warm here in Sydney, which means I still have been able to get away with wearing light bottoms without completely covering up. I love the wool top I got from Review, especially the intricate ribbon tie up on the back, it adds just that little bit of an extra twist to an ordinary knit. We ended up frolicking in the nearby bushes to play around with location shoots and lighting. I lasted for about 5 shoots before I got eaten alive by mosquitoes. I had bites all over my legs, but I think the photos turned out well enough to be worth it.

Oh and the lovely Maria from wildspacemonkeyadventures awarded me with the Kreativ Blogger Award. A big thank you to her as it's a massive honour. I will be writing a reply post over the next few days.

olive.

I haven't been very creative at all lately. The best, most creative title I could come up with for this post was "olive". So totally conceptual aye? I guess this will currently have to suffice, until I get a bit more of a creative kick.

This is what I wore on Sunday for Rick's birthday. I bought this beautiful olive green chiffon top from the amazing Shareen from Vintage Mavens. The colour is so crisp and it is just the PERFECT shade of olive for the upcoming autumn season in Sydney. It has vintage gold buttons on the top neckline and sleeves. I really couldn't believe the quality of the top and the immaculate condition it was in too. Big thank you to Shareen for finding such an amazing item which is now my newest and most favourite addition to my winter wardrobe.

Work has been really stressing me out lately!
Thank god for public holidays this coming week! Cannot wait, also I'm heading to Queensland next weekend for a little getaway with Rick, which I think is well deserved!
Hope everyone has a great easter filled with chocolates, yummy food and good company!

happy birthday bf.

It has been a busy past week that hasn't really left me much time to blog at all. As I mentioned in my previous post, yesterday was Rick's birthday, I won't tell you how old he turned as he will probably kill me. We spent the entire day together yesterday celebrating, eating and shopping. Glad the weather held up for most part of the day that allowed us to bask in some sun.

For breakfast, I took us for something a bit different: High Tea. We were served a yummy assortment of finger breads with deliciously fresh toppings, scones with fresh double whipped cream, jam and marmalade as well as an assortment of cakes and sweets. We went for a quick walk around the park in the beautiful Bicentennial Park and its surrounding parklands. We stopped to take some photos too, but this post is dedicated to the bf. Outfit post will follow soon.

We then headed to Chatswood to pick up a top from Myer I had ordered to match my skirt for my dinner outfit. We ended up in Chatswood Chase and found an amazing collared white shirt with piping on the collar from Arthur Galan, which I bought for him for his birthday. I've been lusting over AG pieces for a while now, especially this tan coloured leather dress with the craziest ruched detailing.  Cannot believe he actually owns an AG piece before me. We have also been looking for pewter coloured Vans for him, but since he has gigantic feet, sizing was always an issue. As luck had it, we just happened to find a pair at Hype in his size.

We then headed home after much walking, to finally get showered and dressed for a seafood dinner. We went to dinner at Stonebar, a little seafood restaurant in Meadowbank by the water. We had mornay oysters and lobster as well as seafood marinara pasta. The food was delish and the service was great. By the time we got home, James had baked an apple and cinnamon puff pastry pizza, glazed with honey and with a size of vanilla custard.

It was definitely a well spent day with the boyfriend. I hope you guys all had a rad weekend. Sorry my post is an essay of a post today, that might or might not be coherent as I'm not in much of a writing mood today.

I'll try to post more regularly. See you guys soon!

rustic.

I came home today to a nice little surprise from Rick. He upgraded my fixie and pretty much came home with a whole new package. Its got a complete new colour scheme (although I loved my pastel purple bike to bits), new grips and new rims. We just went for a late night ride, which was exhilarating in the cold crisp autumn night air. Can't wait to take photos and show you guys.

Its been getting pretty difficult to take outfit photos now with daylight savings in place. We never get enough time to catch the afternoon sun. Night photos are always so hard to take. The location from this shoot was discovered during one of our sunday rides. Its an overpass right next to the rail line that takes riders and pedestrians over the river to the next suburb.

I love the rustic look of this location, its high overhead iron cable columns lines the walkway behind fences reaches into the sky, the fact that this overpass runs over the river making it feel like you're walking on water. I'm not entirely happy with these photos because we arrived at location at midday, when the sun was as its strongest. I'm pretty much squinting in all these photos, but it was the only opportunity we got.

This top, which I wore as a dress, has so many vibrant colours, its such a playful and fun outfit which reminds me so much of summer and spring. It's chiffon, makes the cut of the dress flow perfectly as a smock dress. Rick also decided to play around with tinting the photos which I think turned out really good, as it looks kind of like an early morning shoot.

Soooo....its Rick's birthday this weekend, which I am excited to be planning. Also I've been invited to the Life Aquatic Blog's no Fixed Address Gig featuring The Gate. I'm pretty excited for everything that's happening this week.

Hope you guys had a fantastic weekend and will be having a magnificent week!

A few weeks ago I attended the sable and argent grand opening in Pitt St Mall.
Here are the videos of all the trick riders, riding around the beautiful urban and coastal landscape of Sydney.

Hope you guys have a great weekend and thanks to all the recent comments from all you lovely people out there!

sunday sessions.

We were finally given a break from rain this weekend with Sunday turning out to be a really nice sunny day. We woke up from a really good sleep as daylight savings started and gave us an extra hour of sleep. We headed to the Bronte Beach for an early morning surf and breakfast.

I initially had another outfit planned for today, but as luck would have it, I got pooped on by a seagull whilst at the beach. Not only was it a new top, it was a leather top which is a nightmare to clean. I came home in the worst mood and didn't want to take another outfit photo.

As the weather was so nice today, a bike ride was too hard to pass up. We did a 30km ride today, all around Homebush and Newington Armory and back home again. I wanted to wear a top I got from Australian brand staple the other day, but the back of the top was too long and Rick wouldn't let me wear it in fear of it getting caught in the back wheel. You guys also have a look at my fixed gear bike, the one that Rick built and customised for me.

This jumper is the most comfortable jumper I own. Its oversized and is 100% wool and is so soft and light, good enough to wear to sleep as well as to wear out on a casual relaxed day like today. My sister bought me the tights from H&M when she was in Shanghai a few months ago. The shoes seems to be the only pair of flat shoes I have that is still in tact and wearable on a riding occasion like today. I need to reinvest in another pair of Vans, but Sydney prices are such a rip off, I just can't help but buy other flats from US or UK websites.
