Sorry I've been away for soooooo long!
I know I've said I was going to have a really busy week, which I did, but as life, like always never turns out the way it's been planned.

I've been busy preparing my portfolio for the last week for an architecture firm based in Sydney called Tanner Architects. Tanner Architects is a multi-disciplinary practice that brings together the skills of contemporary architecture, adaptive re-use, interior design, urban design and strategic planning. Progress on my portfolio is really, really slow, as for some reason I don't have a lot of my work on file? Why I don't have a lot on file, I have no idea, but the process of putting this portfolio together is totally stressing me out! I really hope this interview works out, as I am so totally eager to learn and work in my chosen field.

So going through my previous assignments, I stumbled across and old multimedia project I did. It was based on Hotel Fox in Copenhagen. Hotel Fox contains 61 rooms, its interiors are designed by 21 amazing and greatly talented graphic artists. Every single room has a different interior decor, from street art to Japanese Manga to just crazy spaced out imagination, which will definitely inspire awe. I thought I'd share this hotel and its amazing rooms with you.

I particularly like Sleep Season by Australian design collective Rinzen. It makes you feel like you are out in the woods and bringing the outdoors in with their adorable tent/tepee bed design. It kinda takes you back into the book Where the Wild Things Are and flares up all your childhood imaginations. Which ones are your favourites?

junkyard.

The weather today,  as predicted didn't hold off very well. The sky was overcast when we woke up, which ruined our entire's day worth of plans to go riding and exploring.

Rick, James and I ended up going to Top Ryde for a entirely massive breakfast feed. The first place we went to was unfortunately pretty disappointing. The service was really bad and the food took too long to come. We then went to Patterson's for a sweet treat where we had awesome brioche's, chocolate custard tarts and fruit tarts.

I don't seem to get a chance to take many outfit photos during the week as I'm always busy, or if I do end up wearing something nice, I don't have my SLR with me. As I was dressed for the occasion today, we decided to stop by a spot to take photos of my outfit even though the weather was dreary, pouring down with rain.

This spot is located under a bridge, its walls covered in graffiti. It has fenced off areas and concrete pylons. Such an old junkyard type look that totally complimented my grungy outfit.

James decided to "cutify" me halfway with his geek glasses, although I think it turned out quiet well. Sorry about the last photo, I couldn't work out my frame sizes and it kept cropping and I got tired of editing it. Any ideas on how to get bigger frame sizes for the body of posts would be greatly appreciated!

I have a pretty busy week this week, catching up with friends, product launch nights and I have a hair appointment =) I'm so sick of my hair colour and am in desperate need of a change.

fashionable girls with fashionable bikes.

The weather decided to not hold its lovely sunshine and heat, but rather decided to rain, which rained out our Moonlight Cinema. I was way dissapointed as I'd been anticipating that night for a long long time!

I've struggled for a long time to find a practical but fashionable outfit when going out riding on our fixed gears. The thing is it's been kinda hard as there are many limitations due to safety issues.

For example, I can't wear open toe shoes as there is a possibility that the pedals might cut my toes. I can't wear billowing skirts or loose pants as they might get caught in the wheels, I can't wear skinny jeans as its too restricting and I can't actually pedal properly...you get the drill.

sheraton on hyde.

On Sunday, James took Rick and I for a gourmet dinner at the Sheraton Hotel. The occasion: farewell dinner for Rick as well as a celebration of the time we have known each other.

The Sheraton Hotel is one of a few hotels in Sydney whose building interior ages really well, a design that is classic but timeless. Upon entry, one steps onto the grandeur maroon coloured marble floors, then to face a grand wrap staircase that takes you to the second floor. The interior is well lit, not to light yet not too dim, perfectly creating the perfect ambiance. The food was amazing, the seafood (not that I eat a lot of it) was really fresh, their fruit produce was in season and their bread collection was amazing!

We had a great time just chatting and catching up. Afterwards, we went to Hyde Park to take some quick outfit snaps. James choreographed a cute photography session and I just can't help but get all gittery and giggly everytime I look at this set. I must warn you, that the next influx of pictures will be quiet mushy and lovey dovey.

We also got a chance to take some individual outfit shots. I finally got to wear the Zara dress my sister bought for me from Shanghai. I love how it is so fitted and it ends up kinda tulling out at the waist. It is also just the right length and looks rad with my Matikos. I went on a bag shopping spree about two weeks ago and ended up splurging on two Alannah Hill bags, which I finally got to wear too.

Yesterday, I went on a shopping spree but I feel horrible going about my regular life, as the rest of the people in Japan are suffering from such a horrible natural diaster. I have decided to actually return the items and donated that money to the Red Cross Appeal for the Japanese Quake. I'll also be donating my next pay cheque for them as well. This diaster has hit pretty close to home as we have a lot of friends currently there in Japan, I urgre everyone to give to those in need at this desperate time too. Rick and I are going to Moonlight Cinema in Centinnal Park tomorrow, I'm hoping the weather will be good as its an outdoor event and if the weather holds I'll be able to take some memorable photos of Rick and I.
