oh so french-y.

I woke up Easter Sunday to the smell of crispy bacon wafting through from the kitchen. Rick had gotten up early to cook us a scrumptious breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled mushrooms and grilled tomato. He also handed over to me a massive Kinder Surprise Easter Egg.

I unintentionally dressed myself in the colours of the French flag. A great colour scheme overall, finally moving me away from my normal black, grey, white colour palette. We went for a short walk by Newington Armory in the afternoon. I found out that there was an Art Express exhibition being held there but we missed the closing time by half and hour.

I never seemed be disappointed with Newington Armory, its such a small area, but the scenery changes so quickly. Its located near a river, yet as you go further inland, there are pine trees, yet the old army barracks with its old railway tracks adds a bit of vintage charm to the area.

It's been a while since I've worn lipstick, and I felt every bit lady like. The weather is still kinda warm here in Sydney, which means I still have been able to get away with wearing light bottoms without completely covering up. I love the wool top I got from Review, especially the intricate ribbon tie up on the back, it adds just that little bit of an extra twist to an ordinary knit. We ended up frolicking in the nearby bushes to play around with location shoots and lighting. I lasted for about 5 shoots before I got eaten alive by mosquitoes. I had bites all over my legs, but I think the photos turned out well enough to be worth it.

  1. You look so beautiful, the shots were worth it, mosquitoes and all.

Unfortunately I worked night duty over Easter so didn't have the most amazing Easter. We made up for it last night by drinking WAY too much alcohol and going to explore an old cemetery down the road at 1am.

I've got the worst hangover today. Ever. It was worth it though!!

  6. Wow, I can't believe how pretty you are! And those shorts with the belt and the top... splendid! Glowfest hosted Pretty Lights, Chiddy Bang, Mansions on the Moon, George Watsky, Main Squeeze and Brice Fox & Daniel Weber. It was just a very small festival though... But the light show was incredible!

Long distance is really hard. really, really hard. But as long as both parties are dedicated and sure that they want it to work, I really think it can. In two months, Robert will be coming home for good :) So exciting.

  24. no worries prepare for a long reply back!
haha @ mosquito bites. i live on a hill overlooking the bush so i know all about those -_-! on my connecting flight to shanghai, i was at sydney airport there and back for like, 3 hours! just chilling in the qantas lounge baha. i totally forgot to tell you! it was all rainy there.

just like you, i've been obsessing over lipsticks too! i dont know why! but im glad i have because it just adds so much more to an outfit. i bought one YSL and a few from MAC, but i'm not sure to whether i should keep the YSL rouge volupte or use it in my giveaway? hrm.. oh yes dont know if you know but im doing a giveaway soon XD i want to make sure it's not lame!

okay now about shanghai.. I didn't actually go in the UniQLO building.. so maybe quiksilver was still there? no idea haha! earlier in my trip it was about 18-24 degrees, but the last 2 days were over 30 degrees! i loved it. so yeah i was cold at the start, but boiling at the end. i loved the markets for all the cheap asian knick-knacks. im a sucker for yoshi plushies and snoopy stickers LOL. i went to plaza66 (to drool) and ... so many other shopping malls with asian names i can't remember >_< LOLLL im so bad. we ate at this renowned dumpling place though.. ding xi fung or something?? :S

my knee adjustment was crazy. you know how i told you how my sister gets treated there, well yeah the guy also quickly checked me and found that one of my knees (or was it both i can't remember) needed slight adjustment because when you straighten your leg out, my knee caps wouldn't wobble, which is bad. so he adjusted it and as soon as he did, i found that i was more flexible and stuff (doing squats, touching toes etc), then i went dizzy for 15 mins :S but yeah not everyone has bad knees. i tested my bf's knee caps and they were like jelly! the place in shanghai is called 'tranquility'

oh you're coming to bris this sat? :O where will you be that day??? i'll see if we can meet or something that would be cool! let me know :D

  27. Hey darling, no, actually I wasn't up at 5 a.m., if you saw your comment, it actually said you commented at 5.21 a.m. or something! Ahaha :) I think my clock thingo is wrong on the blog, i will try to change it so i don't look like an all-nigther all the time! hehe :) Btw the place is in South Melbourne, to be exact: on the intersection of York Street and Clarendon Street, the rainbow lights were really interesting, I thought... and me and a friend just happened to be there getting some food from Meetbowl (this Indonesian restaurant on York St.) and we saw this new interesting building, so we took some photos! :)
